'We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.’

The Process

A quick look at what you could expect from this process:

Meeting each other: We spend time together in a coaching process to decide on the best goals and outcomes for you. Together we design a protocol supportive of your desired outcomes. This is not just goal setting – it is goal getting! The coaching conversation consists of questions and meta-questions to get to the heart of things and to facilitate the transformation process. We coach and train to achieve the outcome that you determine in this session. Change in performance and behaviour on all levels is the ultimate goal. You receive a package containing checklists and assessment materials to fill out to make the most of our first coaching/training session together.

Measuring your brain activities with a cap with 19 embedded sensors: This provides us with a brain map, helping us to understand your mental states, whilst simultaneously providing information for effective sensor placements in Neurofeedback training.

The QEEG (brain map) is a visual representation of your brain’s ‘blueprint’ and its communication patterns. Different EEG patterns correspond to different mental states. There are different patterns for sleeping and waking up; for focused concentration and problem-solving compared to drifting off and daydreaming; for impulsive, hyperactive states versus calm, reflective states, etc.

Training for change: Learning (training) is an active process that requires motivation and repetition of exercises. Sensors are attached to your scalp, in the region identified by your brain map as being dysregulated. Sensors ‘read’ information and feed it back to you. They do not provide information to the brain.

Training your brainwave patterns is your task and results in changes in your behaviour. With sufficient repetition, the learned behaviour becomes the new mental state. It is non‑invasive and does not involve medication. Effects are long lasting, especially when combined with effective behavioural change strategies. In this manner you learn to self‑regulate your brainwaves and your mental states.

Using computerized feedback to train your brain: The client has the ability to re-route the neuropathways that are connected to an emotional response, or an unwanted behaviour or thought pattern. This is done by using psychological processes including rewards systems and shaping of desired brainwave patterns by means of observation and computer ‘games’ that are driven by the brain.

Using additional cognitive and behavioural therapies: This assists you in the Neurofeedback training process and on your journey to self-optimization. Learn to apply the internal changes in your mind-body-emotion system to the outside world. Only when the whole system has been affected, do sustainable changes occur. Thereafter, it becomes an automatic behaviour pattern, e.g. an internal map by which you navigate your world on a daily basis.
